Oris Goes Pro with the AquisPro Date Calibre 400 (with Live Photos)
Oris ’s new professional diver’s watch, the AquisPro Date (Ref. 01 400 7767 7754-07 4 26 64BTEB), is the latest model to be equipped with the brand’s in-house Calibre 400 automatic movement. Boasting elevated levels of anti-magnetism, increased accuracy, a five-day power reserve and a 10-year guarantee, Calibre 400 was just recently awarded the technical prize at the Goldene Unruh 2021 (Golden Balance), one of the most important awards in the German watch industry.
The watch’s multi-part titanium case (with DLC) measures 49.5 mm in diameter and boasts an impressive water resistance of 1,000 meters.
Its unidirectional rotating bezel is equipped with Oris’ patented Rotation Safety System, which can only be operated when lifted (left photo). The bezel’s outer rim is covered with black rubber; the insert is made of gray ceramic (and filled with lume). The crown screws securely into the case and nestles into two shoulder-like crown guards. At 9 o’clock is an automatic helium escape valve.
The black rubber strap has a folding clasp with fine-adjustment, and also features an additional safety device: in the event the clasp is released unintentionally, two hooks at the end of the strap help that the watch stay attached to the diver’s wrist.
Beating at 28,800 vph and storing a power reserve of 120 hours, the automatic Calibre 400 drives the hours, minutes and seconds on central hands, along with a quick-setting date at 6 o’clock and a stop-seconds function for easy time-setting synchronization. The model will retail for $4,600 and hit retailers’ shelves in April, 2021. Photos:
