Introducing: A New Silver Dial For The Tudor Black Bay 32/36/41

The Tudor Black Bay comes in three sizes: 32mm, 36mm, and 41mm. And now, each of those sizes comes with three dial choices: black, silver, and blue. The pared-down Black Bay debuted with a black dial in 2012 that led fans to compare the watch to the Rolex Explorer with its minimal aesthetic. Then came the muted blue dial. Now, the model range is expanding with a silver dial that gives the Black Bay line a dose of stealthy monochrome. The new silver dial wears a radial sunburst finish. When it comes to the standard Black Bay, the dial is nicely framed, as the polished stainless steel case features a smooth bezel. Visually, it steals the show. While the Pelagos may display a novella at six o'clock, the Black Bay 32/36/41 each flaunts the old school "Rotor Self-Winding" text that curves up and "smiles." The reserved dial, coupled with the instantly recognizable snowflake hands and the value-oriented Calibre T600, all come together in a way that makes the Black Bay an incredibly attractive way into Tudor. The Black Bay line has slowly been expanding, but it never quite grabs headlines like its cousins with the rotating bezels, and even this addition of the silver dial will most likely play second fiddle to the debut of other models. But the watch is Tudor in its most pure and progressive form. It shares nothing besides snowflake hands with the Tudors of yore, and it doesn't rely on fauxtina and a clever backstory to lure you in. Instead, it's the absence of all the fuss that's most attractive about the watch, and the silver dial manages to preserve that character. The Tudor Heritage Black Bay 32/36/41mm uses a T600 movement, a Tudor-modified 2824. 38-hour power reserve, with 150m water resistance. All three variants come on a steel bracelet, a brown leather strap, or a black fabric strap. The models are priced as follows: 32mm: $2,850, 36mm: $2,950, 41mm: $3,050.
