Whether it was visiting the Palace at Baselworld or checking out the Carré des Horlogers at SIHH, discovering independent watchmaking has always been a big part of trade show time here at HODINKEE. Some of my favorite memories from covering the watch world are meeting watchmakers face-to-face in a slightly more low-key setting between appointments with mega-brands. And, lest we forget, there are also independent watch brands that do operate on a slightly larger scale, just without the dynamics of their conglomerate-controlled counterparts.
So, with that in mind, I got James and Jon on-mic with me to talk through the biggest independent releases of Watches & Wonders 2021. We might not have a white tent to visit across the tram tracks, but we'll do our best anyway. In particular, we take a close look at the new divers from Oris, the latest updates to classic NOMOS watches, the special, unique spot Ressence has carved out for itself, and H. Moser's funky, minimalist take on contemporary watchmaking.
We hope you enjoy this special episode of HODINKEE Radio. Stay tuned for a ton more live coverage this week and follow along with all the latest releases and analysis right here .
