Just Because: Seiko Made A Marathon Clock With Supreme
Supreme, among other claims to fame, is known for its outrageous accessories. Past releases include full-size Stern Pinball machines and Honda dirt bikes, plus crowbars, fire extinguishers, and, notoriously, branded bricks. Seiko, among its other claims to fame, is known for its marathon timer alarm clock in a distinctive shade of bumblebee yellow. The American hypebeast brand and the Japanese watch and clockmaker have now joined forces on the piece you see here.
When I first saw the pictures, I imagined it as an enormous full-size marathon clock that hangs above the finish line in professional events – selling a gigantic clock would be a classic Supreme prank. But as it turns out, this is the miniature version, measuring just 1.77” x 0.24” x 4.09”, making this one of Supreme’s tamer offerings.

This mini alarm clock features a countdown timer, stopwatch, alarm with snooze function, calendar, and dial light. The detachable stand makes this alarm clock particularly travel-friendly. But who are we kidding? No one's buying this for its functionality.
Supreme die-hards scrutinize and attempt to decode every accessory's specific cultural meaning or importance. With the brand's roots being in NYC, this one may be a nod to the New York City Marathon, which will reportedly make its triumphant post-COVID return this fall. Meanwhile, equally obsessive Seiko fans will note the similarities between this new piece and its previous mini marathon-clock collab with another very red brand: Coca-Cola.
The Supreme x Seiko Marathon Clock
The Supreme x Seiko Marathon Clock will drop on Supreme’s website at 11:00AM EST. With a surprisingly reasonable retail price of just $48, fans of both brands are already clamoring to get their hands on one. If you can’t manage to score one of these before they sell out (and they will sell out rather quickly), you can expect to pay a premium on secondary marketplaces like StockX or eBay. The race is on.And the sprint to a certain sellout has officially begun.
